The procedure for non-EU citizens takes longer with the Spanish authorities; that is why the delivery times are longer (15 days to 6–12 weeks) and the prices higher. What is an NIE number? An NIE number (Número de Identificación de Extranjero) is a unique identification number for foreigners in Spain. You need it for almost any formal or administrative action, such as working, buying a house or opening a bank account.
